An Introduction to Networking
Networking is simple. Plug the right cable in the right ports and get two machines to talk to one another. While the exercise of developing and testing the switch and router configurations may be left to the reader in this introduction, they will be discussed in-depth in this section of posts and comments. Networking is the dial-tone of the computer era – it is expected to work, and no measurement of unplanned downtime is acceptable. We will discuss topologies, transport mechanisms, network paradigms, and routing protocols (amongst other topics) in this section.
